LEEDS, UK May 2006 - Luminary Solutions, the UK supplier of
Corporate Performance Management and system integration solutions, announced the
launch of CPMS, its appliance-based business control
solution for Microsoft Windows.
Many organisations suffer from too many reports, too much data and not enough
useful information on which to base timely and accurate business decisions.
'Temporary' workarounds usually degenerate into spreadsheet chaos requiring a team
of 'spreadsheet jockeys' to maintain them. Corporate Performance Management is a
discipline designed to put structure and process around the management of an
organisation's Key Performance Indicators to avoid problems such as:
- Conflicting reports from different computer systems
- Over-reliance on Excel spreadsheets: multiple versions of the truth
- Management and regulatory reports which are conflicting, time consuming to
prepare and arrive late
- Real business performance information not readily available
- Poor presentation of data
Drawing upon many years experience of implementing bespoke business performance
management software for government, the Luminary Corporate Performance Management
Solution (CPMS) is a network-ready appliance which is tailored for each customer's
environment, giving a clear view of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for
the business. At its heart is a flexible reporting hub that aggregates and
integrates data from existing systems to provide intuitive analysis of KPI's.
The solution is tailored to fit with each business, not the other way around.
The Luminary CPMS is a proven solution, designed to run on Microsoft Windows
Server 2003 and integrate closely with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
Central information can be accessed from Microsoft Excel via a set of plug-ins
for ad-hoc analysis or charting, and custom dashboards can also be created for
delivery either through a web browser or via Microsoft Excel. For developers,
a .NET client API is provided to facilitate access to CPMS information from
any .NET client such as ASP.NET or a Windows Smart Client.
One of the major components of the solution is a flexible .NET Alerting Engine,
designed to provide real-time notifications of business events monitored by the
CPMS, such as stock levels being exceeded, KPI's being achieved, or sales leads
falling below defined targets.
