LEEDS, UK 27th January 2005 - Luminary Solutions, the UK supplier of
mobile and system integration solutions, has completed a major project for Beryle
and Lee Inc in the United States. Beryle and Lee, a leading software house, has
undertaken the rejuvenation of a large suite of applications for a major US Defense
Agency in association with Computer Associates, one of the world's largest software
companies.
The project, which took over seven months, was the porting of a large character
based application to provide a state-of-the-art Graphical User Interface while
implementing a Service Orientated Architecture to 'future proof' the application.
Code was 'rescued' from the existing application and re-deployed in the new
architecture so that the major risks of a new development were avoided.
This approach allowed the end customer to upgrade the usability of its applications,
rationalise different code streams and expose the business logic in the legacy
applications to new front-ends.
Working with Beryle and Lee and Computer Associates, Luminary formed part of a
virtual team based in four countries. Luminary's team of seven technical specialists
was deployed as a managed unit within the project and spent over six months working
on the project.
Sonchu Lee Malak, CEO of Beryle and Lee, commented:
"Luminary worked as a seamless part of our team. We knew every Luminary task would
be done on time and with the high quality our customers expect. Luminary helped
make the split virtual team work. Their extensive experience of working on separate
sites in different time zones was invaluable. We contacted Luminary to assist in
this project as their technical skill and adaptability in this technical area is
exceptional".
Kally Shergill, Luminary's Project Manager, said:
"We worked hard to integrate our ways of working with that of the other partners
in this major programme. I feel sure our commitment was reflected in the high
quality and great customer satisfaction Beryle and Lee and CA achieved".
