LEEDS, UK 5th October 2004 - Luminary Solutions, the leading supplier of OpenROAD and Ingres services in the UK announced that it is moving to the next phase in support of Wellington Underwriting's strategic IT resourcing programme.

Wellington Underwriting is a leading insurance and reinsurance group in the London Market. John Edwards, Wellington's Software Development Manager said "Our systems are key to our operation and we prefer to undertake most of our development in-house. We have to combine high quality software with agility and therefore our critical business systems are dynamically configurable. We can reconfigure during the online day and be processing new business within a matter of hours if necessary. Key to our strategy is finding a suitable technical partner to help us manage the inevitable peaks and troughs that occur in development demand".

Integral to this process has been an initial but intensive skills transfer exercise from Wellington to Luminary in order that Luminary could establish their own centre of excellence in Wellington's systems and ensure continuity of service and consistency of quality of any follow-up assignments. This phase has now been completed and further resource deployment is in place on a trial basis to test the feasibility of the concept.
